Trap‐Modified Inverted Organic Photodetectors via Layer‐by‐Layer Processing with Poly(N‐vinylcarbazole) Additives

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Trap state engineering in inverted organic photodetectors (OPDs) is achieved via combined layer‐by‐layer (LbL) processing and poly(N‐vinylcarbazole) (PVK) incorporation. LbL reduces the trap density while PVK additives gradually shift trap states from shallow band‐edge to deep mid‐gap levels, tailoring the energy distribution.

Magnetic field-enabled ultrahigh-rate Zn metal anodes

open access: yesMaterials Today Energy
Aqueous Zn-based flow batteries receive tremendous attention toward future grid-scale energy storage, but the uncontrollable dendrite growth and limited plating current density at the Zn anode severely hinder their application prospects. Herein, we realize non-dendritic Zn growth at an ultrahigh current density of 100 mA cm-2 via the application of an ...

On the development of a mercury-free ternary aluminium anode for cathodic protection [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
The development of a new mercury-free ternary aluminum anode (CIFTAL) for cathodic protection of marine structures is described. The new anode demonstrated a current efficiency of 83.5% to 85.4% in a current density range of 5.6 to 166.7 mAdmˉ².

Alkali Ion‐Incorporated HfO2 Dielectrics for Reconfigurable Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents an indium gallium zinc oxide (IGZO) transistor with an alkali cation‐integrated hafnium dioxide (HfO2) dielectric exhibiting synaptic behavior via ion retention. The solution‐based film fabrication strategy overcomes the limitations of atomic layer deposition (ALD) and precursor coating, enabling the control of synaptic retention ...

Sustainable nanostructured electrolyte additives for stable metal anodes

open access: yeseScience
Metal anodes (e.g., Li and Zn) are promising candidates for high-energy and high-power rechargeable batteries. However, the commercialization of metal anodes is hampered by irregular dendrite growth, which severely deteriorates the safety and cyclability
