Long‐Chain Molecule Reconstruction of Novel Solvation Structure to Stabilize Zinc Metal Anode

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Triethylene glycol diacetate (TGD), with unique long‐chain characteristics and rich oxygen‐containing functional groups, was used as an electrolyte additive to reconstruct the solvation structure. TGD can reduce the erosion of H2O molecules on the Zn anode, effectively homogenize the electric field distribution. Therefore, the Zn//Zn symmetric cell can

Bond‐Competition‐Driven Enhancement of Surface Basicity and Interfacial Interaction to Boost Photocatalytic Syngas Production

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A synergetic surface bond competition−hybridization approach was developed to synthesize high‐performance CO2 adsorbents and syngas production photocatalysts via the sulfurization‐driven control of surface basicity and interfacial coupling. The ZnIn2S4−sulfur‐doped MgO/MgAl2O4 nanocomposites showed outstanding photocatalytic efficiency for production ...

A Covalent Organic Framework With Staggered Topology for Mimetic Transmembrane Transport of Hydrated Ions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by biological ion channels, an AB‐staggered β‐ketoenamine‐linked COF enables rapid hydrated‐ion transport through a biomimetic dehydration‐compensation mechanism, where carbonyl‐rich convergent channels partially offset ion dehydration energy. As aqueous Zn battery separators, the COF membranes suppress parasitic reactions and dendrite growth,

Polybromides Attraction‐Repulsion Regulation Promotes High‐Performance Zinc–Bromine Static Battery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Br3− attraction‐repulsion regulation enhances the reversibility and reaction kinetics of Zn–Br static batteries. Coin cell shows a high average discharge voltage of 1.73 V and a fast charge/discharge rate up to 32 mA cm−2. Pouch cell with a high areal capacity of 8.3 mAh cm−2 achieves a real capacity of 365 mAh after 100 cycles.

Ion bridging enables high-voltage polyether electrolytes for quasi-solid-state batteries

open access: yesNature Communications
Polyether electrolytes have been widely recognized for their favorable compatibility with lithium-metal, yet they are hampered by intrinsically low oxidation thresholds, limiting their potential for realizing high-energy Li-metal batteries.

Mitigating ion flux vortex enables reversible zinc electrodeposition

open access: yesNature Communications
Metal anodes hold considerable promise for high-energy-density batteries but are fundamentally limited by electrochemical irreversibility caused by uneven metal deposition and dendrite formation, which compromise battery lifespan and safety.

Triple‐Coupling Regulation Enables Dendrite‐Free Subzero Aqueous Zn‐Ion Batteries [PDF]

open access: yesAdvanced science
A formamide‐ethanol deep eutectic electrolyte enables triple‐coupling regulation of solvation structure, interfacial chemistry, and crystallographic Zn deposition. The reconstructed Zn2+ solvation reduces water activity and suppresses side reactions, while a robust hybrid SEI stabilizes the interface.
