Research on influence of double energy absorptions on dynamic volt‐ampere characteristics of metal oxide varistors

open access: yesHigh Voltage, Volume 10, Issue 1, Page 78-87, February 2025.
Abstract Metal oxide varistors (MOVs) are extensively employed in DC circuit breakers (DCCBs) to suppress overvoltage, dissipate energy and build up voltage after interruption. Despite their widespread use, the performance of MOVs under short‐time, double energy absorption conditions is not well understood, posing a challenge to their application in ...

Effect of the sintering temperature on the electrical properties of Y–Al‐doped ZnO varistors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Ceramic Engineering &Science, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2025.
The effect mechanism of sintering temperature on the electrical properties of Y–Al‐doped ZnO varistors was revealed in this paper. It not only enriches the theoretical basis for the performance regulation of ZnO varistors but also provides a scientific basis for their application under higher requirements.

Influence of Y–Bi–Co oxide doping on electrical performance of ZnO varistors based on simulation analysis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Ceramic Engineering &Science, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2025.
Simulation methods were used to help reveal the effect mechanism of Y, Bi, and Co dopants on ZnO varistors. It provides an important theoretical basis for the development of high‐performance varistor. Abstract ZnO varistors doped with Y2O3${\rm Y}_2{\rm O}_3$, Bi2O3${\rm Bi}_2{\rm O}_3$, and Co2O3${\rm Co}_2{\rm O}_3$ were analyzed for electrical ...

A comparative study of thermal conductivity in ZnO- and SnO2-based varistor systems

open access: yes, 2005
We performed a comparative study of electrical and thermal properties of ZnO- and SnO2-based varistor. The electrical properties of commercial ZnO-based varistor are equivalent to that found in SnO2-based varistor system.

IMPACT OF RARE EARTH OXIDES ON THE STRUCTURE AND ELECTRICAL PROPERTIES OF ZnO-Bi2O3−BASED VARISTOR CERAMICS: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF Y2O3 AND CeO2

open access: yesTạp chí Khoa học
Zinc oxide (ZnO)-based varistor ceramics, incorporating varying amounts of Y2O3/CeO2, were fabricated through a twostep solid-state reaction method involving pre-calcination and subsequent sintering processes.

Precursor impurity‐mediated effect in the photocatalytic activity of precipitated zinc oxide

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 107, Issue 12, Page 8269-8280, December 2024.
Abstract Photocatalytic degradation of pollutants using nanoparticles presents a promising method globally. However, effectively harnessing light absorption while mitigating recombination and nanoparticle agglomeration remains challenging. Here, we explore the synthesis and characterization of zinc oxide nanoparticles for photocatalytic dye removal in ...

Thermal behaviour analysis in a porcelain-housed ZnO surge arrester by computer simulations and thermography

open access: yesHigh Voltage, 2019
In this article, an analysis of heat transfer in a porcelain-housed ZnO surge arrester is presented. Due to the fact that ZnO-based surge arresters are key components for protection and reliability of electrical systems, it is necessary to seek ...

Microstructure–property relationship in textured ZnO-based varistors

open access: yesActa Materialia, 2010
The relationship between microstructure texturing and electrical characteristics of a ZnO-based varistor system was investigated in comparison with a varistor system having the same chemical composition but conventional microstructure. Highly textured ZnO-based varistors were produced via the templated grain growth (TGG) technique.

Interfacial space charge between ZnO varistor ceramics and coatings

open access: yes, 2002
The interfacial space charge distribution between ZnO varistor ceramics and different collar coating materials was investigated using the Pulsed Electroacoustic Method (PEA) and Thermal Stimulated Current (TSC) methods. The experimental results show that
