Abstract Metal oxide varistors (MOVs) are extensively employed in DC circuit breakers (DCCBs) to suppress overvoltage, dissipate energy and build up voltage after interruption. Despite their widespread use, the performance of MOVs under short‐time, double energy absorption conditions is not well understood, posing a challenge to their application in ...

Effect of the sintering temperature on the electrical properties of Y–Al‐doped ZnO varistors
The effect mechanism of sintering temperature on the electrical properties of Y–Al‐doped ZnO varistors was revealed in this paper. It not only enriches the theoretical basis for the performance regulation of ZnO varistors but also provides a scientific basis for their application under higher requirements.

Effect of sintering temperature and heat treatment on electrical properties of indium oxide based ceramics [PDF]
Indium oxide based ceramics with bismuth oxide addition were sintered in air in the temperature range 800-1300 ºC. Current-voltage characteristics of In2O3-Bi2O3 ceramics sintered at different temperatures are weakly nonlinear.

Simulation methods were used to help reveal the effect mechanism of Y, Bi, and Co dopants on ZnO varistors. It provides an important theoretical basis for the development of high‐performance varistor. Abstract ZnO varistors doped with Y2O3${\rm Y}_2{\rm O}_3$, Bi2O3${\rm Bi}_2{\rm O}_3$, and Co2O3${\rm Co}_2{\rm O}_3$ were analyzed for electrical ...
