Influence of Fine Crystal Percentage on the Electrical Properties of ZnO Ceramic-Based Varistors
Herein, the effect of nanocrystal percentage in bulk-ZnO varistors was studied. The structure of ZnO nanocrystals was examined using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM).

DC Aging Mechanism of Co2O3-Doped ZnO Varistors
Lowered power loss and asymmetrically electrical parameters are reported in the DC aging of Co2O3-doped ZnO varistors in this paper. Based on the frequency domain dielectric responses of the pristine and degraded samples, the present study explores the ...

Electrical properties of ZnO varistors prepared by direct mixing of constituent phases [PDF]
Varistor samples containing different amounts of constituent phases were prepared by direct mixing of constituent phases. Detailed electrical characterization was performed to explain the influence of minor phases (spinel and intergranular phases) on ...

Microstructural Characterization of ZnO Varistors.
Two kinds of commercial ZnO system varistors were investigated with relevance to their microstructures. Particularly, face-to-face fracture surfaces were characterized in terms of secondary electron image and backscatterd electron image to clarify the existence of precipitates at the grain-to-grain interface.

Computer Simulation of ZnO Varistors Failures [PDF]
ABSTRACTA simple thermo-mechanical model is applied to evaluate the influence of the nonuni-formity of ZnO varistor disks used in surge arresters on their energy handling capability. By solving heat transfer equations for a varistor disk with nonuniform electrical properties, we compute the time dependence of the temperature profile and the ...

Abstract Electromagnetic sounding coupled with experimental measurements of electrical conductivity (EC) can provide valuable constraints on the thermochemical state of Earth's lower mantle. Here, we report a new set of experimentally determined EC values of pyrolite, a candidate composition of the lower mantle, between 25 and 80 GPa at room ...

Ultra‐Rapid Blacklight Sintering for ZnO‐Based Varistors With Optimized Functional Properties
ABSTRACT The increasing demand for energy‐efficient optoelectronic systems has intensified interest in high‐performance ceramic varistors, which are critical components in surge protection applications. In this study, ZnO‐based varistors were fabricated using a novel blacklight sintering (BLS) technique, which employs high‐powered blue light, and were ...
