Interfacial tensions in Zn, Zn-Sn and Zn-Sn-Pb systems
Journal of the Less Common Metals, 1977Abstract Intergranular and solid-liquid interfacial tensions have been determined for Zn-Sn and Zn-Sn-Pb systems. The temperature coefficient of the intergranular tension of solid zinc is negative. Solid-liquid interfacial tension for the Zn-Sn system increases as the tin content increases; the σsl values fit an equation derived from statistical ...

The experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of supplementary zinc-threonine (Zn-Thr), zinc-methionine (Zn-Met), and zinc oxide (ZnO) on the laying performance, egg quality, Zn content in egg and excreta. One hundred and sixty hens (Hy-Line W36) were randomly divided into 10 treatments with 4 replications of 4 hens each.

The Zn(II)/Zn exchange reaction
Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry, 1970Summary The results of an investigation of the kinetics of the Zn(II)/Zn exchange in aqueous electrolytes are reported. Galvanostatic, potentiostatic and faradiac impedance experiments are described. Significant changes in electrode activity occur during the initial 2 h of electrode/electrolyte contact.

Magnetostriction of Ni-Zn and Co-Zn ferrites
physica status solidi (a), 1985The magnetostriction of polycrystalline mixed nickel-zinc and cobalt-zinc ferrites of different compositions are studied as a function of composition, magnetic field, and temperature, using the strain gauge method. At room temperature it is observed that the values of saturation magnetostriction in both the ferrite systems decrease with the increase of

Photodissociation spectroscopy of Zn+(H2O) and Zn+(D2O)
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2005We report on a study of the photodissociation spectroscopy of weakly bound Zn+(H2O) and Zn+(D2O) complexes. The work is supported by ab initio electronic structure calculations of the ground and low-lying excited energy surfaces. We assign two molecular absorption bands in the near UV correlating to Zn+ (4s-4p)-based transitions, and identify ...

Zn vacancy ferromagnetism in ZnS nanocrystals
Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2017Abstract To explain three order of magnitude discrepancy between the experimental and calculated magnetic moments due to Zn vacancies in ZnS nanocrystals we study the effect of Zn vacancy distribution in a nanocrystal (NC). We consider small, intermediate, and large quantum dots. For the latter we employ the surface-bulk model.

Electrodeposition of Zn–Ni, Zn–Fe and Zn–Ni–Fe alloys
Surface and Coatings Technology, 2010Abstract Zn–Fe, Zn–Ni and Zn–Ni–Fe coatings were electrodeposited galvanostatically on mild steel from acidic baths (pH 3.5) consisted of ZnCl 2 , NiCl 2 , FeCl 2 , gelatin, sulfanilic ( p -aminobenzenesulfonic) acid and ascorbic acid. Cyclic voltammetry showed that the effect of gelatin was more pronounced than that of sulfanilic acid, and that the ...

Grain and subgrain structure of rapidly solidified Zn, Zn-Cd, Zn-Sn, and Zn-Sb foils
Inorganic Materials, 2007We have studied the grain and subgrain structure and solidification texture of rapidly solidified Zn, Zn-Cd, Zn-Sn, and Zn-Sb foils at alloying levels of up to 8 at %. The results indicate that the foils have a microcrystalline structure and (0001) texture.
