Chronic stress‐induced brain‐derived small extracellular vesicles promote colorectal cancer through Treg differentiation

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
Chronic stress‐induced BD‐sEVs act as central‐to‐peripheral mediators, conveying stress signals to colorectal tumours and driving Treg differentiation via NOXA/HSP60‐triggered mtDNA release and cGAS‒STING activation, which suppresses antitumour immunity and correlates with anxiety and prognosis.

Rituximab Binding Endows CD20+ Extracellular Vesicles With NK Cell‐Activating Properties in B Cell Lymphoma

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 15, Issue 8, August 2026.
B cell lymphoma‐derived EVs are intrinsically neutral or suppressive with respect to NK cell activity (panel 1). In the context of rituximab treatment, NK cytotoxicity is enhanced by antibody‐dependent cell‐mediated cytotoxicity (panel 2). Herein we show that, in addition, rituximab recognition of EV‐associated CD20 generates immune complexes that ...

HCV‐Specific T‐Cell Recovery After a Year of SVR Following DAA Therapy

open access: yesJournal of Medical Virology, Volume 98, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Direct‐acting antiviral (DAA) drugs lead to sustained virologic response (SVR) in almost all treated patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. Despite this success, the long‐term effects of HCV clearance by DAA therapy on T‐cell‐mediated antiviral immunity remain unclear, particularly concerning the restoration of immune ...

Secure Decentralized Key Relaying via Random Walks in Dynamic Semi‐Trusted QKD Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, Volume 9, Issue 8, August 2026.
Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) provides point‐to‐point, information‐theoretically secure session keys, but distance limitations require trusted relays between remote parties. Can quantum keys be relayed without trusting every intermediate node or depending on a central controller?

Defining Composition–Cytokine Relationships Enables the Design of Lipid Nanoparticles with Programmed Immunogenicity

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 45, 13 August 2026.
Lipid nanoparticle composition governs distinct cytokine programs through the interplay of ionizable and polyethylene glycol‐conjugated (PEGylated) lipids. In vitro profiling, design of experiments (DoE) modeling, and in vivo validation reveal how formulation can tune reactogenicity‐associated pathways, while transgene expression remains the strongest ...

Enhancement of immune checkpoint inhibitor efficacy by DHX58+ SELL+ T cells in advanced gastric cancer

open access: yesVIEW, Volume 7, Issue 4, August 2026.
We created a coculture system using patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) and tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) that mimics important interactions between PDOs and TILs in the presence of various ICIs. Our findings reveal that CD62L+ T cells, activated by CD44+ cancer stem cells (CSCs), facilitate tumor regression in samples sensitive to ICIs, which is ...
