Slope instability recognition, analysis, and zonation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
This chapter is presented in four sections. Section 1 provides an introduction to the subject of slope instability and landslide hazard zonation. Some methodological aspects of slope instability hazard zonation are dealt with in Section 2.

The Impact of Zoning Designations on Bird Communities: A Case Study of National Nature Reserves in Guangdong Province

open access: yesDiversity
One of the main management strategies of China’s nature reserve is “zonation”, dividing reserves into three zones (core, buffer, and experimental zones) to which different levels of restrictions on anthropogenic activities are applied. While zonation has

Assessment of landslide hazard models in Chamsangar basin [PDF]

open access: yesتحقیقات کاربردی علوم جغرافیایی, 2017
Landslide mapping is one of the approaches (which can be) used to define the slope stable critical areas and the maps prepared based on this demarcating are used in desining sustainable development.

Mechanochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructured ErB4 and NdB4 Rare‐Earth Tetraborides

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Low‐Cost, Large‐Scale Nanoporous Metals by Mechanical Alloying, Oxide Reduction, and Dealloying of Powders

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Powder metal processing provides scalable advantages in nanoporous (np) metal development. Mechanical alloying is used to produce unique precursors for hybrid nanopore formation by oxide reduction and dealloying. As demonstrated in np Ag, this approach improves process efficiency while promoting smaller ligaments and larger pores, both of which are ...

Correlation of Marine Miocene Bolboforma Zonation and Uvigerina Zonation in Northern Germany

open access: yes, 2002
Regional Uvigerina zonation (benthic foraminifers) is correlated to global Bolboforma zonation (incertae sedis) and to Neogene calcareous nannoplankton zonation (NN) in the Nieder Ochtenhausen, Wursterheide, Twistringen, GroB Pampau, Schwarzenbek ...

On the Lightweight Potential of Laser Additive Manufactured NiTi Triply Periodic Minimal Sheet Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the lightweight potential of laser additive‐manufactured NiTi triply periodic minimal surface sheet lattices. It systematically investigates the effects of relative density and unit cell size on surface quality, deformation recovery, compression behavior, and energy absorption.
