At the outbreak of the current financial crisis many European commentators and politicians took it to be an essentially Anglo-Saxon affair. The euro zone was taken to be, in effect, a victim of ‘collateral damage’ from the fallout of a crisis manufactured elsewhere.

Les initiatives de la Commission ayant souvent été contre-productives, il est urgent d'instaurer une nouvelle gouvernance. Depuis 1999, les pays de la zone euro partagent une monnaie commune.

A clip uploaded by an anonymous user on YouTube shows a group of 13 migrants being pursued in November 2010 by a unit belonging to the first land border patrol operation ever undertaken under the flag of the EU.1 The short film is shot from a helicopter that evidently helps the ground patrol to track down the migrants.
