Strictly Conservative Neural Implicits

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, Volume 43, Issue 7, October 2024.
Abstract We describe a method to convert 3D shapes into neural implicit form such that the shape is approximated in a guaranteed conservative manner. This means the input shape is strictly contained inside the neural implicit or, alternatively, vice versa.

Congruence and Metrical Invariants of Zonotopes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Zonotopes are studied from the point of view of central symmetry and how volumes of facets and the angles between them determine a zonotope uniquely.

Adaptive fault‐tolerant control for aircraft against control surface failure diagnosed by set‐membership estimation

open access: yesAsian Journal of Control, Volume 26, Issue 5, Page 2565-2582, September 2024.
Abstract This paper focuses on the fault diagnosis method and the fault‐tolerant control method of the aircraft with control surface damage. The fault diagnosis method is based on the set‐membership estimation. To diagnose the fault of control surface under the condition of data containing noise and uncertainty, a multi‐index optimized fault residual ...

Limitations of the Hyperplane Separation Technique for Bounding the Extension Complexity of Polytopes

open access: yes, 2020
We illustrate the limitations of the hyperplane separation bound, a non-combinatorial lower bound on the extension complexity of a polytope. Most notably, this bounding technique is used by Rothvo{\ss} (J ACM 64.6:41, 2017) to establish an exponential ...

Aggregation Method and Bidding Strategy for Virtual Power Plants in Energy and Frequency Regulation Markets Using Zonotopes

open access: yesEnergies
Aggregating and scheduling flexible resources through virtual power plants (VPPs) is a key measure used to improve the flexibility of new power systems.

Protocol-based set-membership state estimation for linear repetitive processes with uniform quantization: a zonotope-based approach

open access: yesComplex & Intelligent Systems
This paper is concerned with the zonotopic state estimation problem for a class of linear repetitive processes (LRPs) with weighted try-once-discard protocols (WTODPs) subject to uniform quantization.

Bounded Error Identification of Systems With Time-Varying Parameters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This note presents a new approach to guaranteed system identification for time-varying parameterized discrete-time systems. A bounded description of noise in the measurement is considered.

Methods for order reduction of zonotopes

open access: yes2017 IEEE 56th Annual Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2017
Zonotopes are a special subclass of polytopes, which have several favorable properties: They can be represented in a compact way and they are closed under the Minkowski sum as well as under linear transformations. Zono-topes are a popular set representation used e.g.

Volume Inequalities for Asymmetric Orlicz Zonotopes

open access: yesTaiwanese Journal of Mathematics, 2018
The authors extend the asymmetric \(L_p\) volume product and asymmetric \(L_p\) volume ratio inequalities due to \textit{M. Weberndorfer} [Adv. Math. 240, 613--635 (2013; Zbl 1296.52008)] to the Orlicz setting. The proof here uses shadow system, which is the same as in the Weberndorfer paper [loc. cit.].
