Vadym Nehoda (1979–2016), an investigator of bats and a guard of the nature [PDF]
A brief essay about a Ukrainian zoologist who distinguished himself in a number of studies of the waterbirds of the Dnipro basin and the bats of Polissia and Podillia. In zoology, Vadym Nehoda primarily focused on studying pipistrelle bats (Pipistrellus).

From armadillos to sloths: Patterns and variations in xenarthran coronary anatomy
Abstract Species of the superorder Xenarthra play a vital ecological role in the Neotropics. Despite their evolutionary significance, anatomical studies on their coronary circulation remain scarce. This study investigated the coronary anatomy of 82 hearts from nine Xenarthra species across the Dasypodidae, Myrmecophagidae, and Bradypodidae.

Hominoid‐specific calretinin‐immunopositivity of the optic radiation (geniculocalcarine tract)
Calretinin‐immunostained coronal section through the primary (V1) and extrastriate (ExSt) cortex of the lar gibbon. Note that the optic radiation (OR) is strongly calretinin‐immunoreactive. This calretinin‐immunopositivity of the OR distinguishes the Hominoidea from other primates in terms of the neurochemistry of the OR.

The fraction of early-type galaxies in low redshift groups and clusters of galaxies [PDF]
We examine the fraction of early-type (and spiral) galaxies found in groups and clusters of galaxies as a function of dark matter halo mass. We use morphological classifications from the Galaxy Zoo project matched to halo masses from both the C4 cluster ...
