AbstractPiburger Bach is a short, spring‐fed lake affluent. The macrozoobenthos of this stream has been studied both qualitatively and quantitatively. More than 15,000 specimens of invertebrates, including all developmental stages of insects, were collected; a high proportion of these was identified to the genus or species level.

Characteristics of the Zoobenthos in Boka Kotorska Bay
2016Description of the basic characteristics of the zoobenthos assemblages at the seafloor of the Boka Kotorska Bay was created by compiling available data from the scientific and gray literature, and they are a result of research on this area during the last 55 years.

Grazing impact of filter-feeding zoobenthos in a Danish fjord
Journal of Experimental Marine Biology and Ecology, 2004The grazing impact has been evaluated of filter-feeding animals in Odense Fjord (Denmark) that is characterized by large biomass of filter feeding polychaetes (Nereis diversicolor), clams (Mya arenaria) and cockles (Cerastoderma glaucum). The filtration rate of each population (Ftot) was related to the total water volume (Vtot) in the different areas ...

[Effects of grazing on zoobenthos community in beach].
Ying yong sheng tai xue bao = The journal of applied ecology, 2007In May (spring) and October (autumn) 2005, the effects of grazing on the zoobenthos community in Chongming Dongtan wetland of Shanghai were investigated. A total of 3 transects including 90 sampling plots were set up. Transects I and II were in feeding area, and transect III was in non-pasture area.

Mercury and chlorinated hydrocarbons in zoobenthos of Lake Päijänne, Finland
Archives of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 1979The average amounts of mercury, PCBs, and sigma DDT (primarily DDE), found in macrozoobenthos, on the wet basis, in Lake Päijänne, Finland, for the time period 1972-1974, were 79 ng/g, 29 ng/g, and 8 ng/g, respectively. Lindane was found in negligible amounts in only 2% of the samples examined; aldrin was present in 10% of the samples; no dieldrin was ...

Switching Between Deposit and Suspension Feeding in Coastal Zoobenthos
2001This chapter, consisting of an overview followed by two sub chapters each dealing with a specific example, attempts to provide current insight into possible switching between deposit and suspension feeding in coastal zoobenthos. The examples are two common inhabitants of shallow waters, the polychaete Nereis diversicolor and the bivalve Macoma balthica.
