Bottom-pelagic links of hydrobionts in the Kara Sea according to data on δ15N and δ13C and feeding of fish

open access: yesИзвестия ТИНРО
To compare trophic properties in pelagic and benthic communities of the Kara Sea, isotopic composition of carbon and nitrogen (δ13C and δ15N) was examined in tissues of zooplankton, zoobenthos, and fish.

Habitat Differences in Resource Density and Distribution Affect Ecology and Life History of a Landscape‐Modifying Fish

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 34, Issue 22, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Resource heterogeneity is a widespread phenomenon, as resources are rarely spaced evenly across a landscape. Variation in resource density and distribution can have a myriad of behavioural, ecological, and evolutionary consequences for populations, yet clarifying these effects is still challenging.

StrataSeq: A Workflow for Rapid Development of Molecular Databases for Hard‐To‐Identify Species

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 10, October 2025.
Biodiversity loss calls for better monitoring of small, species‐rich taxa, such as soil invertebrates, but traditional methods are limited due to complex morphology and lack of expertise. DNA‐based approaches offer a solution, but their effectiveness depends on incomplete molecular reference databases.

Effects of Semi‐Natural Habitats on Bird Occupancy in Different Intensity Agriculture: A Multi‐Species Approach

open access: yesDiversity and Distributions, Volume 31, Issue 9, September 2025.
ABSTRACT Aim Agriculture is a primary factor underlying worldwide declines in biodiversity. Incorporating semi‐natural habitat features within agricultural landscapes is considered an effective strategy for mitigating the biodiversity loss associated with agricultural intensification.

Zoobenthos of the Lednické rybníky ponds

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2014
Qualitative and quantitative composition of macrozoobenthos was studied on the lednické rybníky ponds. Altogether 299 taxa of benthic macroinvertebrates were determined. The values of macrozoobenthos density and biomass ranged between 5–13 021 ind.m–2 and 0.02–79.6 g.m–2 respectively.

Feeding Mystus gulio Fry With Different Dietary Inclusion of Coccomyxa Sp.: Changes in Nutritional Profile, Pigments and Digestive Enzyme Activities

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 5, Issue 4, August 2025.
ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of Coccomyxa sp. on the survival, nutritional profile, pigments and digestive enzyme activities of Mystus gulio. A 75‐day feeding trial was performed during which the fish fry were fed with microalgae as a partial replacement for other nutritional components.

Differential responses of coolwater fishes to a whole‐lake reduction of a warmwater thermal guild

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 16, Issue 7, July 2025.
Abstract Climate change is transforming the ecology of lakes at a rapid pace, shifting some lakes toward warmwater‐dominant habitats. As a result, warmwater fishes are increasingly becoming more prevalent in lakes where they already existed, altering the patterning and strength of species interactions. Understanding shifting species interactions (e.g.,

Study on abundance of benthic macroinvertebrates in relation to soil texture types of sediment in three ponds

open access: yesInternational Journal of Agricultural Research, Innovation and Technology, 2017
The present research was conducted to evaluate the monthly variations of macrozoobenthos of three ponds (pond 1, bottom soil is loam; pond 2, bottom soil is sandy loam; pond 3, bottom soil is silty clay loam) in relation to soil texture types of sediment.

Structure and long-term dynamics of zoobenthos communities in the areas of scallop Chlamys islandica beds at Kola Peninsula

open access: yesИзвестия ТИНРО, 2018
Current state of zoobenthos in the areas of scallop Chlamys islandica beds in the southern Barents Sea and eastern White Sea (Voronka) is described. The scallop stock is exploited there with the landing by specialized vessels, without separation of ...
