Zoobenthos of the Kem’ river, White sea drainage basin (composition, abundance and trophic structure)

open access: yesTransactions of the Karelian Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 2018
The species composition and abundance of macrozoobenthos was studied in rapids and backwaters of the Kem’ River (draining to the White Sea). 93 species and supra-species taxa of invertebrates were identified.

Differential responses of coolwater fishes to a whole‐lake reduction of a warmwater thermal guild

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 16, Issue 7, July 2025.
Abstract Climate change is transforming the ecology of lakes at a rapid pace, shifting some lakes toward warmwater‐dominant habitats. As a result, warmwater fishes are increasingly becoming more prevalent in lakes where they already existed, altering the patterning and strength of species interactions. Understanding shifting species interactions (e.g.,

Differentiated Responses of Planktonand Zoobenthos to Water Quality Basedon Annual and Seasonal Analysisin a Freshwater Lake

open access: yes, 2017
In order to reveal the differentiated responses of plankton and zoobenthos to water quality on both annual and seasonal time scales, an ecological study on plankton and zoobenthos community was conducted during 2011 to 2015 in Nansi Lake in northern ...

ZOOBENTHOS EFFECT AND THE ROLE OF ZOOBENTHOS IN THE NITROGEN METABOLISM IN A SHALLOW EUTROPHIC LAKE.

open access: yes, 1991
Effects of zoobenthos, especially chironomid larvae and tubificid worms, usually dominated in eutrophic lakes, on sediment-water interface of lake bottom were discussed with special reference to the role of zoobenthos in nitrogen metabolism in a shallow ...

Effect of aquatic ecological restoration on zoobenthos community of Lotus Lake

open access: yes, 2007
The Lotus Lake in Wuhan, consisting of two Likes (the small and big), is a typical urban shallow hypereutrophic lake. After continuous monitoring for 16 months, it was hound that the aquatic environment in the small Lotus Lake was greatly improved ...

Natural variability of biochemical biomarkers in the macro‐zoobenthos: Dependence on life stage and environmental factors

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology and Chemistry, 2017
Biomarkers are widely used in ecotoxicology as indicators of exposure to toxicants. However, their ability to provide ecologically relevant information remains controversial.

Zoobenthos in surface sediments during Professor Vodyanitskiy cruise PV32

open access: yes, 2008
The Ocean grab was taken at each station using a 0.25 m**2. The samples were sieved through a creen with 1 mm mesh size and were preserved in 40% alcohol, for subsequent sorting and identifing in the laboratory. On the basis of taxon scores, the means of

List of phytoplankton, zooplankton and zoobenthos species abundances

open access: yes, 2013
We studied the effects of changed quality of inflow water of aquaculture ponds on three aquatic communities, phytoplankton, zooplankton and zoobenthos, during two seasons of rearing common carp (Cyprinus carpio).

Effects of food availability and habitat features on the Ephemeroptera species composition at seasonal and spatial scales from neotropical floodplain rivers

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Biology, 2017
Brazilian floodplains have suffered great changes in their natural characteristics in recent decades, mainly in the flood pulse. The Upper Paraná River floodplain is one of the few places where are found remained areas in which such peculiar ...
