Within-population variation in an invasive fish' sociability when associating with conspecifics or heterospecifics. [PDF]
We examined sociability in guppies, demonstrating within‐population differences in sociability, which could have broader implications for invasion ecology. By revealing differences in associations with heterospecifics among individuals, the study sheds light on the complex mechanisms behind interactions between native and invading species.

Regional patterns of genetic structure and environmental differentiation in willow populations (Salix humboldtiana Willd.) from Central Mexico. [PDF]
The geological and climatological factors that have shaped the genetic diversity and structure of a willow species (Salix humboldtiana) in three basins of Central Mexico were studied. It was found that the genetic structure of the species is strongly associated with the current and historical geological configuration of the basins and the rivers within

The invasive twospot livebearer's biology, and its current and potential global distribution
Abstract Poeciliids are widely recognized as successful invaders, possessing traits associated with invasion success. Native to Central America and south‐eastern Mexico, the twospot livebearer (Pseudoxiphophorus bimaculatus) is a species recently recognized as invasive in both Central and northern Mexico.

Abstract Invasive species represent a threat to biodiversity and ecosystem services and cost millions of dollars to the global economy. The viviparous Mexican fish known as the tequila splitfin (Zoogoneticus tequila) became extinct in the wild as a consequence of habitat loss and degradation, and interactions with invasive species.

The study of prenatal interactions of embryonic viviparous Cyprinodontidae (Pisces) can illuminate the evolution of this reproductive mode. Yet the small size, relative scarcity, and conservation status severely limit this potential. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can solve or palliate these limitations.
