Cross section, final spin and zoom-whirl behavior in high-energy black hole collisions
We study the collision of two highly boosted equal mass, nonrotating black holes with generic impact parameter. We find such systems to exhibit zoom-whirl behavior when fine tuning the impact parameter.

This work investigates modifying interfacial contacts in realizing giant‐performance semiconductor nanomembrane optoelectronics. Strategies, including surface reaction and buffer layer work‐function modulation, are explored to boost the Schottky barrier. An emerging material of YbOx is utilized for near‐ideal Ohmic contact.

A laser‐driven strategy enables precise microstructural modulation of Mo₂C, achieving nanoscale grain control (15.6 ± 5 nm) and an ultrahigh grain boundary density (130 µm−1). Moreover, high‐angle grain boundaries enhance active sites, facilitate electron transport, and optimize hydrogen adsorption kinetics, significantly reducing overpotential.
