Ocean Sciences Perspectives on Integrated, Coordinated, Open, Networked (ICON) Science
Abstract This article is composed of three independent commentaries of how “Integrated, Coordinated, Open, and Networked” (ICON), as well as “Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable” (FAIR; under the umbrella of “Open” from ICON), principles are currently embedded in ocean sciences, and what are the opportunities and challenges by adopting ...

Testing Bergmann's rule in marine copepods
Macroecological relationships provide insights into rules that govern ecological systems. Bergmann's rule posits that members of the same clade are larger at colder temperatures. Whether temperature drives this relationship is debated because several other potential drivers covary with temperature.

ZOOPLANCTON (CLADOCERA Y COPEPODA) DE LA LAGUNA DE CAJITITLÁN
Cladocerans and copepods are the main zooplankton formers in freshwaters. The actual state of pollution faced by the lagoon of Cajititlán restricts the amount of species able to habit this water body, and with it, the functionality of the ecosystem due ...

Abstract Cichlid fishes' famous diversity in body coloration is accompanied by a highly diverse and complex visual system. Although cichlids possess an unusually high number of seven cone opsin genes, they express only a subset of these during their ontogeny, accounting for their astonishing interspecific variation in visual sensitivities. Much of this
