Management strategies for preventing and recovering from zoysiagrass winterkill

open access: yesCrop, Forage &Turfgrass Management, Volume 11, Issue 2, December 2025.
Abstract Zoysiagrass (Zoysia spp. Willd.) is a warm‐season grass used from tropical to temperate climates, and it generally requires fewer inputs than most other cool‐ and warm‐season turfgrasses. The development of new zoysiagrass cultivars has increased its use in the United States, but its adaptation and specific uses are species and cultivar ...

A Study on the drought resistance of genus Zoysia

open access: yesJournal of the Japanese Society of Revegetation Technology, 2004

Zoysiagrass sod production: A review

open access: yesCrop, Forage &Turfgrass Management, Volume 11, Issue 2, December 2025.
Abstract Zoysiagrass (Zoysia spp. Willd.) produces a high‐quality warm‐season turfgrass sward and requires fewer management inputs compared with many other warm‐season turfgrass species. Three primary species, all known by the common name “zoysiagrass,” are used in the United States, and these include Z. japonica, Z. matrella, and Z. pacifica.

Performance of warm-season turfgrasses in an area of central Italy

open access: yesAdvances in Horticultural Science, 2015
Traditionally, in Italy, the C3 cool-season grasses have been the dominant species used for turfs, even though they do not appear to be the most suitable for the Mediterranean climate.

Crickets in Context: How Environment and Morph Relate to Locomotory Behavior

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 12, December 2025.
Because behavior is unlikely to be identical in the wild compared to the lab, we paired a lab experiment with the first in situ observation of movement behavior in the Pacific field cricket. We documented differences between our field and lab studies, namely morph differences in the field that did not appear in the lab, as well as contextual plasticity

Phenomics‐driven insights into zoysiagrass drought resistance using small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS)‐based hyperspectral images

open access: yesThe Plant Phenome Journal, Volume 8, Issue 1, December 2025.
Abstract The application of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS)‐based high‐throughput phenotyping in plant breeding has advanced significantly over the past decade. Hyperspectral images and machine learning approaches offer potential to enhance drought resistance screening in turfgrass. However, large‐scale field applications remain limited, and the
