Complete mitochondrial genome of Neochalcosia remota (Walker, 1854) (Lepidoptera: Zygaenidae) [PDF]

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources
The Zygaenidae family comprises diurnal moths recognized for their bright coloration and chemical defenses. Despite its ecological and evolutionary significance, mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) data remain scarce.

The complete mitochondrial genome of Amesia sanguiflua (Lepidoptera, Zygaenidae) [PDF]

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources, 2020
Amesia sanguiflua (Lepidoptera, Zygaenidae) is found in northern India, Myanmar, Indochina, Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Java, and China. In the present study, we sequenced the complete mitochondrial genome of A. sanguiflua.

Characteristics and phylogenetic analysis of the complete mitochondrial genome of Erasmia pulchella Hope, 1840 (lepidoptera: zygaenidae) [PDF]

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources
Erasmia pulchella has brightly colored wings and releases toxic cyanide as a defense against predation. At present, the molecular phylogenetic status of this species is still unclear.

The genome sequence of the 6-spot burnet, Zygaena filipendulae (Linnaeus, 1758) [version 2; peer review: 1 approved, 3 approved with reservations] [PDF]

open access: yesWellcome Open Research, 2022
We present a genome assembly from an individual female Zygaena filipendulae (6-spot burnet; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Zygaenidae). The genome sequence is 365.9 megabases in span.

Transcriptome analysis identifies candidate genes in the biosynthetic pathway of sex pheromones from a zygaenid moth, Achelura yunnanensis (Lepidoptera: Zygaenidae) [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ, 2021
In most moth species, sex pheromones responsible for mating and communication of both sexes are primarily produced by the pheromone glands (PGs) of female moths.

The genome sequence of the Crepuscular Burnet, Zygaena carniolica (Scopoli, 1763) (Lepidoptera: Zygaenidae) [version 1; peer review: 2 approved] [PDF]

open access: yesWellcome Open Research
We present a genome assembly from a female specimen of Zygaena carniolica (Crepuscular Burnet; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Zygaenidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 353.39 megabases and 323.68 megabases.

The complete mitochondrial genome of Pidorus atratus (Lepidoptera: Zygaenoidea: Zygaenidae) [PDF]

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources, 2018
The complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of Pidorus atratus (Lepidoptera: Zygaenoidea: Zygaenidae) is described in this study. The circular molecule is 15,383 bp in length and contains 37 typical mitochondrial genes and one non-coding AT-rich ...

New records of Zygaenidae (Lepidoptera) from Montenegro [PDF]

open access: yesHistoria Naturalis Bulgarica, 2020
Four areas in Montenegro were visited at the end of June - beginning of July 2020. We found 12 species of Zygaenidae. Second records for Adscita statices drenowskii (Alberti, 1939) and Jordanita globulariae (Hübner, 1793) for Montenegro are provided here.
