Graphical Analysis of Social Group Dynamics

open access: yes, 2013
Identifying communities in social networks becomes an increasingly important research problem. Several methods for identifying such groups have been developed, however, qualitative analysis (taking into account the scale of the problem) still poses ...

Heterotic Moduli Stabilisation and Non-Supersymmetric Vacua [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We study moduli stabilisation in four-dimensional $N=1$ supergravity theories which originate from compactifications of the heterotic string on certain manifolds with $SU(3)$ structure.

Home‐Making Through Deathscapes or How to Circumvent the Contradictions of Nationalism: The Case of Polish Far‐Right Activists in Britain

open access: yesNations and Nationalism, Volume 32, Issue 2, Page 509-519, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Using the case of Polish far‐right activists in Britain, this paper explores how migrants joining far‐right groups in countries of residence reconcile their own transnational lives with nativist attachment to the national soil. The paper adopts an anthropological framework on discursive and performative strategies used to navigate this ...

Saddle point inflation from higher order corrections to Higgs/Starobinsky inflation

open access: yes, 2015
We explore two saddle point inflationary scenarios in the context of higher order corrections related to different generalisations of general relativity.

Sub-Nanometer Catalyst Clusters for Propane Dehydrogenation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Propane dehydrogenation (PDH) is used to produce propene, which is the primary building block for many commercial plastics. The catalyst most commonly used for this reaction is platinum.

Imagining the Nation in the 21st Century

open access: yesNations and Nationalism, Volume 32, Issue 2, Page 273-281, April 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper investigates how our imagining of the nation has evolved from the 1600s to this day. Reviewing the well‐known analysis of Benedict Anderson, this paper carries the argument further, investigating how our imagining of our national communities has changed alongside sociopolitical, economic and technological transformations.

Assessing the Mechanism of NH3 Sensing in Flexible Carbon‐Nanotube‐Based Chemoresistive Sensors via In Situ Photoemission Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 5, 4 March 2026.
Flexible carbon nanotube chemoresistors detect NH3 through charge‐transfer interactions directly revealed by in situ synchrotron X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Binding‐energy shifts of ≈1 eV correlate with resistance changes, demonstrating that intra‐CNT charge transfer between NH3 and CNTs is the dominant sensing mechanism.

Placental iron utilisation in fetal growth restriction: alterations in mitochondrial haem synthesis and iron–sulphur cluster assembly pathways

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 604, Issue 5, Page 2229-2249, 1 March 2026.
Abstract figure legend Altered iron handling and mitochondrial pathways in FGR placentas. Placental tissue from FGR pregnancies showed increased expression of iron importers, transferrin and divalent metal transporter 1, and decreased expression of the iron exporter ferroportin, suggesting that the FGR placenta is retaining iron to meet its own ...
