The 3D genome of Gigaspora margarita unveils stable chromatin and nucleolar organization and symbiont‐dependent genome dynamics

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 251, Issue 5, Page 2799-2817, September 2026.
Summary Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) are widespread plant symbionts that enhance nutrient acquisition and influence ecosystem productivity. Previous chromosome‐level assemblies of the model species Rhizophagus irregularis revealed a two‐compartment genome architecture (active A and repressed B chromatin compartments), yet its conservation across ...

The S-A-F-E zygoma protocol for guided zygomatic implant placement: a retrospective case series of 27 patients

open access: yesRomanian Journal of Stomatology
Background. The rehabilitation of the severely atrophic maxilla with zygomatic implants (ZIs) presents unique surgical challenges. While various techniques exist, there is a need for standardized, digitally driven protocols to enhance precision and ...

Ambient Light‐Activatable Luminescent Particle‐Embedded Conformal Patch for Photochemical Tissue Bonding and Photobiomodulated Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 44, 7 August 2026.
We report a wearable photonic patch integrating room light‐ and sunlight‐activatable luminescent particles (RSLPs) for both photochemical tissue bonding and photobiomodulation. RSLPs harvest ambient light and emit red luminescence to drive chlorin e6–mediated collagen crosslinking.

Mastication‐Induced Electrical Stimulation Activates Prg4+ Chondroprogenitors for Osteoarthritis Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 45, 13 August 2026.
This study presents a ″trash‐to‐treasure″ strategy that converts harmful joint overloads into beneficial electrical cues. The biodegradable MagPie, by providing piezoelectrical stimulation and releasing Mg2+ during mastication, exerts synergistic pro‐regenerative and anti‐inflammatory effects on Prg4+ cells via the ECM‐mediated FAK‐PI3K‐Akt axis ...

Dietary Adaptation in Paranthropus robustus Postcanine Teeth

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Biological Anthropology, Volume 190, Issue 4, August 2026.
Upper premolar enamel thickness in Paranthropus robustus increased significantly over time, especially in the occlusal region. ABSTRACT Objectives Recent studies of Paranthropus robustus crania identified temporal trends in features associated with increased bite force production, coinciding with environmental shifts toward more arid conditions.

Intervention With Autologous Platelet‐Containing Plasma for Immature Atrophic Facial Scars: A Quantitative Case Study

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
Current clinical practice for atrophic scars typically delays intervention until scar stabilization, usually 6–12 months after injury. This case presents a young male with an immature atrophic facial scar who received intradermal autologous platelet‐containing plasma (ACP) 2 months after injury.

Biomechanical evaluation of conventional, zygomatic, zygomatic bone anchored subperiosteal and maxilla anchored subperiosteal implants applied totally edentulous maxilla: finite element stress analysis

open access: yesBMC Oral Health
Background This study aims to evaluate the stress distribution under occlusal forces by using finite element analysis (FEA) to compare conventional, zygomatic, and differently designed subperiosteal implants (SI) in edentulous atrophic maxilla. Methods A

Characterization of the oral microbiota in zygomatic versus dental implants: Implications for full-mouth rehabilitation

open access: yesJournal of Dental Sciences
Background/purpose: Dental implants are widely used to restore oral function and esthetics in patients with tooth loss. General zygomatic implants (GZIs) are a valuable alternative for patients with severely atrophic maxillae or post-oncologic defects ...
