Abstract
Long acting reversible contraception has become increasing popular in woman of reproductive age. The intrauterine device (IUD) offers women a contraception that does not require daily attention, is easily placed and provides safe and effectivebirth control. There are both hormonal and nonhormonal types of intrauterine devices, with the copper IUD (nonhormonal) allowing for ten years of continuous contraception.
