Abstract

Following some remarks on the methodology of the classical cosmological tests, recent observations of galaxies at high redshift are examined to see whether they place any constraints on the cosmological models. It is concluded that, at least at present, they do not. The principle difficulty is that the luminosity evolution of galaxies is poorly constrained.
