Abstract

In order to understand the principle of the ignition system it is necessary to be conversant with the theory of the petrol engine, in so far as it concerns the ignition of the air-petrol charge. It will here be assumed that the reader is familiar with the four-cycle and two-cycle operations employed in petrol engines.*
