Abstract

In the current climate of limited funding, it is important to know exactly how the funding is being spent: to identify how much each service costs and to apportion the cost to our funding bodies who now demand that we relate the money we receive to the services we provide. They want to be sure that they are only paying for the services to their own staff and students. The Cairns Library currently receives recurrent funding from a number of sources. We are at present in the process of setting up Service Level Agreements with the funding bodies in which the services to be provided and the funding required to provide them will be specified.
