Summary
This paper describes the design and construction of an e.e.g. waveform simulator which provides variable output frequencies in the alpha (8–13 Hz), beta (13 Hz), delta (4 Hz) and theta 94–8 Hz) bands. A fundamental requirement of the machine is that it should be possible either to select any individual output or the sum of two or more of the available output signals. In addition, in order to simulate ‘real-life’ conditions as nearly as possible, a programming circuit has been incorporated so that ‘bursts’ of any combination of signals can be generated.
