Medicinal Plant Use in North Karelia, Finland, in the 2010s
Abstract
:1. Introduction
- documented the ethnomedicinal use of plants among Karelians (and their descendants, including those of Karelians war refugees and mixed origin) and local Finns residing in or originating from Finnish North Karelia.
- identified similarities and divergences between the studied groups in their medicinal plants and uses.
- recognised similarities and divergences between the current ethnomedicinal practices and those reported in historical literature.
