Dacus kaplanae

Description

Group Kaplanae

A new group near to the Schoutedeni group, differing in the lack of an anal streak. Like D. schoutedeni Collart 1935 and D. merzi White, 2006, the males have a pecten and hindtibia swelling, but lack the area of microtrichia adjacent the end of wing vein A1+Cu2, as seen in almost all other Dacus and Bactrocera spp. which have a pecten.
