Streszczenie

Wstęp: Niedożywienie jest to nieprawidłowy, zły stan organizmu ludzkiego, który powstaje na wskutek niedostatecznego przyswajania,  przyjmowania lub też zwiększonych strat substancji odżywczych, niezbędnych do utrzymania prawidłowego stanu zdrowia. Można wyróżnić aż 3 typy niedożywienia: typu marasmus, kawashiorkor i mieszany.

Cel: Przedstawienie wielkości zagrożenia dla społeczeństwa jakim jest niedożywienie, określenie problemów jakie mają osoby starsze z niedożywieniem oraz roli jaką pełni pielęgniarka w opiece nad chorym niedożywionym.

Materiały i metody: Przeprowadzono analizę 16 artykułów naukowych oraz literatury współczesnej, dotyczących opieki pielęgniarskiej u chorych z niedożywieniem, używając słów kluczowych: niedożywienie, pacjent geriatryczny, plan opieki pielęgniarskiej.

Wyniki: Opieka pielęgniarska nad pacjentem geriatrycznym z niedożywieniem wynika z charakterystycznych objawów występujących w tym schorzeniu. Najważniejszym zadaniem w opiece nad pacjentem z niedożywieniem jest prawidłowe, rzetelne oraz obiektywne i stałe dokonywanie oceny stanu odżywienia, podejmowanie wszystkich możliwych działań służących zapobieganiu pogłębiania się tego stanu, współpracę z zespołem terapeutycznym i pacjentem w wyborze odpowiedniego leczenia żywieniowego.

Wnioski: Nieodżywienie i ryzyko jego wystąpienia rośnie proporcjonalnie ze wzrostem ilości osób starszych. Na występowanie niedożywienia mają wpływ czynniki medyczne i niemedyczne. Bardzo często taki nieprawidłowy stan zostaje późno rozpoznany, zaś na jego ocenę składa się przeprowadzenie badań przesiewowych oraz badań złożonych, które oceniają stan odżywienia. Różnorodność w grupie starszych dotycząca problemów zdrowotnych powoduje iż nie ma jednego odpowiedniego leczenia niedożywienia dla wszystkich chorych. Leczenie jest wielokierunkowe, indywidulane, całościowe dla każdego pacjenta. Ma na celu zapobieganie dalszym konsekwencją zburzeń odżywiania. Niezmiernie istotną rolą pielęgniarki u osób w wieku starszym z niedożywieniem jest edukacja chorego oraz jego rodziny, a także rozwiązywanie aktualnych problemów natury psychicznej i fizycznej.

Summary:

Introduction: Malnutrition is an abnormal condition of the human body. It is caused by insufficient absorption, intake or increased nutrient losses, necessary to maintain proper health.

Purpose: Performance of size the threat to society which is malnutrition. Identify the problems that malnourished people have. Identify the role that a nurse play in the care of a person suffering from malnutrition.

Materials and methods: An analysis of 16 scientific articles and the contemporary literature covering nursing care of patient with malnutrition. Using the key words: malnutrition, geriatric patient, nursing care plan.

Results: Nursing care of geriatric patient with malnutrition results from specific symptoms occurring in malnutrition. The most important task in nursing care of patient with malnutrition is correct, honest and objective, constant assessment of nutritional status. Taking all possible measures to prevent the deepening of the malnutrition. Cooperation with the therapeutic team and the patient.

Conclusion: malnutrition and the risk of malnutrition increases proportionally along with the steady growth of the elderly. Malnutrition is affected by medical and not medical factors.  Malnutrition is often diagnosed late, and evaluation is made of screening and complex tests that assess nutritional status. A group of older people characterized by a variety of health problems means that there is no single treatment for malnutrition in all patients. Treatment is multidirectional, individual, holistic for each patient. It aims to prevent the further consequences of eating disorder. An extremely important role for a nurse in an elderly person with malnutrition is to educate the patient and his family, as well as to address current mental and physical problems.
