Electric field created p–n junction in composite films made from carbon nanotubes, iron (III) sulfate and polyvinyl alcohol

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
Suspension made of Fe2(SO4)3(aq), polyvinyl alcohol and carbon nanotubes is placed in electric field to separate charges. Charges remain separated as suspension solidifies, forming composite films with cations and anions enriched at opposite sides ...

On the Categorical Entropy and the Topological Entropy [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Mathematics Research Notices, 2017
To an exact endofunctor of a triangulated category with a split-generator, the notion of entropy is given by Dimitrov-Haiden-Katzarkov-Kontsevich, which is a (possibly negative infinite) real-valued function of a real variable. In this paper, we propose a conjecture which naturally generalizes the theorem by Gromov-Yomdin, and show that the categorical

Entropy and expansion [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales de l'Institut Henri Poincaré, Probabilités et Statistiques, 2020
Shearer's inequality bounds the sum of joint entropies of random variables in terms of the total joint entropy. We give another lower bound for the same sum in terms of the individual entropies when the variables are functions of independent random seeds. The inequality involves a constant characterizing the expansion properties of the system.

The Entropy Universe [PDF]

open access: yesEntropy, 2021
About 160 years ago, the concept of entropy was introduced in thermodynamics by Rudolf Clausius. Since then, it has been continually extended, interpreted, and applied by researchers in many scientific fields, such as general physics, information theory, chaos theory, data mining, and mathematical linguistics.

High-Temperature Tribological Behavior of Al0.3Cr0.5Fe1.5Mn0.5Ni High-Entropy Alloys With Addition of Titanium and Carbon

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials, 2022
In this study, the Al0.3Cr0.5Fe1.5Mn0.5Ni high-entropy alloys (HEAs) with addition of titanium and carbon was prepared. The as-cast alloys were composed of FCC solid solution and TiC particles, and were further aged and strengthened by precipitation of ...
