Addressing the muon anomalies with muon-flavored leptoquarks [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of The European Physical Society Conference on High Energy Physics — PoS(EPS-HEP2021), 2022
Significant deviations from Standard Model (SM) predictions have been observed in $ b \to s ^+ ^-$ decays and in the muon $g-2$. Scalar leptoquark extensions of the SM are known to be able to address these anomalies, but generically give rise to lepton flavor violation (LFV) or even proton decay.

Muon Lifetime and Muon Capture [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2004
We present an introduction to the MuLAN and MuCAP experiments at PSI, which aim at high precision determinations of two fundamental Weak Interactions parameters: the Fermi constant GF and the induced pseudoscalar form factor gp, respectively.

Towards a muon collider

open access: yesThe European Physical Journal C, 2023
AbstractA muon collider would enable the big jump ahead in energy reach that is needed for a fruitful exploration of fundamental interactions. The challenges of producing muon collisions at high luminosity and 10 TeV centre of mass energy are being investigated by the recently-formed International Muon Collider Collaboration. This Review summarises the

Estimation of the number of muons with muon counters [PDF]

open access: yesAstroparticle Physics, 2021
The origin and nature of the cosmic rays is still uncertain. However, a big progress has been achieved in recent years due to the good quality data provided by current and recent cosmic-rays observatories. The cosmic ray flux decreases very fast with energy in such a way that for energies $\gtrsim 10^{15}$ eV, the study of these very energetic ...

Structure and Phase Behavior of Interpolyelectrolyte Complexes of PDADMAC and Hydrophobically Modified PAA (HM‐PAA)

open access: yesMacromolecular Chemistry and Physics, Volume 224, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
Interpolyelectrolyte complexes (IPECs) of PDADMAC are formed with normal and hydrophobically modified PAA. This modification leads to the formation of much larger complexes with an internal substructuring. SANS yields a detailed structural description of the aggregates, which on a nm‐level are cylindrical.

Euphonic: inelastic neutron scattering simulations from force constants and visualization tools for phonon properties

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, Volume 55, Issue 6, Page 1689-1703, December 2022., 2022
An overview of the Euphonic Python package for efficient simulation of inelastic neutron scattering by phonons from force constants is presented.Interpretation of vibrational inelastic neutron scattering spectra of complex systems is frequently reliant on accompanying simulations from theoretical models.

Muons at ISIS [PDF]

open access: yesPhilosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 2018
For the last 30 years, muon experiments at ISIS pulsed neutron and muon facility at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Oxfordshire have been making a significant contribution to a number of scientific fields. The muon facilities at ISIS consist of eight experimental areas.

Liquid fragility maximum in lithium borate glass‐forming melts related to the local structure

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Glass Science, Volume 14, Issue 1, Page 52-68, January 2023., 2023
Configurational heat capacity contribution of the boron coordination change reaction in lithium borate liquids as a function of temperature above the glass transition, and composition from pure boron oxide up to lithium orthoborate. The values were calculated from an analytical expression, with enthalpy and entropy of boron coordination change derived ...
