Polymer informatics at-scale with multitask graph neural networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Artificial intelligence-based methods are becoming increasingly effective at screening libraries of polymers down to a selection that is manageable for experimental inquiry. The vast majority of presently adopted approaches for polymer screening rely on handcrafted chemostructural features extracted from polymer repeat units -- a burdensome task as ...

Dispersity in Polymer Science (IUPAC Recommendations 2009) [PDF]

open access: yesKemija u Industriji, 2012
This recommendation defines just three terms, viz., (1) molar-mass dispersity, relative-molecu- lar-mass dispersity, or molecular-weight dispersity; (2) degree-of-polymerization dispersity; and (3) dispersity.

Representing Polymers as Periodic Graphs with Learned Descriptors for Accurate Polymer Property Predictions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
One of the grand challenges of utilizing machine learning for the discovery of innovative new polymers lies in the difficulty of accurately representing the complex structures of polymeric materials. Although a wide array of hand-designed polymer representations have been explored, there has yet to be an ideal solution for how to capture the ...

Dispersing Nanoparticles in a Polymer Film via Solvent Evaporation [PDF]

open access: yesACS Macro Lett. 5, 694 (2016), 2016
Large scale molecular dynamics simulations are used to study the dispersion of nanoparticles (NPs) in a polymer film during solvent evaporation. As the solvent evaporates, a dense polymer-rich skin layer forms at the liquid/vapor interface, which is either NP rich or poor depending on the strength of the NP/polymer interaction.
