Besov regularity of stochastic measures [PDF]

open access: yesStatistics and Probability Letters 77 (2007) 822--825, 2012
We prove that continuous paths of \sigma-additive in probability set function belong to Besov space.

Limiting Laws of Linear Eigenvalue Statistics for Unitary Invariant Matrix Models

open access: yes, 2006
We study the variance and the Laplace transform of the probability law of linear eigenvalue statistics of unitary invariant Matrix Models of n-dimentional Hermitian matrices as n tends to infinity.

Probabilistic performance estimators for computational chemistry methods: Systematic Improvement Probability and Ranking Probability Matrix. I. Theory

open access: yes, 2020
The comparison of benchmark error sets is an essential tool for the evaluation of theories in computational chemistry. The standard ranking of methods by their Mean Unsigned Error is unsatisfactory for several reasons linked to the non-normality of the ...

Random permutation matrices under the generalized Ewens measure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We consider a generalization of the Ewens measure for the symmetric group, calculating moments of the characteristic polynomial and similar multiplicative statistics.

Modifications in FLAP's second cytosolic loop influence 5‐LOX interaction, inhibitor binding, and leukotriene formation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The enzyme 5‐lipoxygenase (5‐LOX) catalyzes the first step in the biosynthesis of leukotrienes (LTs) involved in inflammatory pathophysiology. After cellular stimulation, 5‐LOX translocates to the nucleus, interacting with the 5‐LOX‐activating protein (FLAP) to form LTA4 from arachidonic acid (AA).

Probability and statistics

open access: yesActuarial Mathematics for Life Contingent Risks, 2014
From a historical perspective, the theory of statistics was developed relatively recently. Calculating the mean from a number of measurements was a procedure first practiced in 1581 but even this simple method, which is understood by most people to-day ...

Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) trajectories predict survival in trifluridine/tipiracil‐treated metastatic colorectal cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The authors applied joint/mixed models that predict mortality of trifluridine/tipiracil‐treated metastatic colorectal cancer patients based on circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) trajectories. Patients at high risk of death could be spared aggressive therapy with the prospect of a higher quality of life in their remaining lifetime, whereas patients with a ...

Intruder States and their Local Effect on Spectral Statistics

open access: yes, 1997
The effect on spectral statistics and on the revival probability of intruder states in a random background is analysed numerically and with perturbative methods.

Peripheral blood proteome biomarkers distinguish immunosuppressive features of cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Immune status significantly influences cancer progression. This study used plasma proteomics to analyze benign 67NR and malignant 4T1 breast tumor models at early and late tumor stages. Immune‐related proteins–osteopontin (Spp1), lactotransferrin (Ltf), calreticulin (Calr) and peroxiredoxin 2 (Prdx2)–were associated with systemic myeloid‐derived ...

A theoretical comparison of the breakdown behavior of In0.52Al0.48As and InP near-infrared single-photon avalanche photodiodes

open access: yes, 2009
We study the breakdown characteristics and timing statistics of InP and In0.52Al0.48As single-photon avalanche photodiodes (SPADs) with avalanche widths ranging from 0.2 to 1.0 mu m at room temperature using a random ionization path-length model.
