Phase light curves for extrasolar Jupiters and Saturns [PDF]
We predict how a remote observer would see the brightness variations of giant planets similar to Jupiter and Saturn as they orbit their central stars. We model the geometry of Jupiter, Saturn and Saturn's rings for varying orbital and viewing parameters.

Dynamics of the asteroid rings (10199) Chariklo
In 2014 it was reported on opening two rings around asteroid (10199) Chariklo (Braga-Ribas F., et al., 2014, Nature, 508, 72–75) and it became the fifth object of the Solar system known to have ring system, after Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

Methods for ray-tracing thermal modelling of Saturn's main rings
The thermal emission and temperatures of the main rings of Saturn depend on the energy the ring particles absorb, reflect and scatter and/or on their Bond albedo, emissivity, thermal inertia, rotation rate and porosity.

Model of gravitational effects in Saturn’s rings
In this work, we consider one possi- ble gravitational interaction in a system consisting of Saturn, its satellites and rings. The structure of rings can be changed because of such interactions leading to some sculpting of rings.

A Large Double-ring Disk Around the Taurus M Dwarf J04124068+2438157
Planet formation imprints signatures on the physical structures of disks. In this paper, we present high-resolution (∼50 mas, 8 au) Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array observations of 1.3 mm dust continuum and CO line emission toward the disk ...

THE writer of the “Astronomical Column,” in your number of June 2, directs attention to some observations of M. Bigourdan on certain peculiarities in the appearance of the following arm of Saturn's Rings observed by him on May 21. He mentions in particular a protuberance situated near Cassini's division.

Disruption of Saturn's ring particles by thermal stress [PDF]
Spacecraft and ground-based observations show that the main rings of Saturn lack particles larger than 10 m. Tidal or collisional destruction of satellites/comets have been proposed as the origin of the main rings; however, Saturn's tide alone cannot grind km-sized fragments into submeter-sized particles because of the high mechanical strength of water

Saturn's Plasma Density Depletions Along Magnetic Field Lines Connected to the Main Rings
We report on a set of clear and abrupt decreases in the high‐frequency boundary of whistler mode emissions detected by Cassini at high latitudes (about ±40°) during the low‐altitude proximal flybys of Saturn. These abrupt decreases or dropouts have start

The Ruin as Kairos in W. G. Sebald’s The Rings of Saturn
Beyond the obvious semiotic heterogeneity of linguistic signs and visual images, which accounts for the disruptive force of the inserted visual material in Sebald’s novel The Rings of Saturn, the text and image relation in this novel is a particular site
