Probable association of T Tauri stars with the L1014 dense core [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Using the Wide Field Grism Spectrograph 2 (WFGS2), we have carried out slit-less spectroscopy, g'r'i' photometry, and slit spectroscopy on the L1014 dense core. We detected three Halpha emission line stars.

JWST Detects Neon Line Variability in a Protoplanetary Disk

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters, 2023
We report the first detection of variability in the mid-infrared neon line emission of a protoplanetary disk by comparing a JWST Mid-InfraRed Instrument Medium Resolution Spectrometer spectrum of SZ Cha taken in 2023 with a Spitzer Infrared Spectrograph ...

Spectropolarimetry of the Classical T Tauri Star T Tauri [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 2006
High-resolution (R ≈ 60,000) circular spectropolarimetry of the classical T Tauri star T Tau is presented. The star was observed on 1997 November 21 and 22. Analyzing 12 photospheric absorption lines, the mean longitudinal magnetic field is found to be Bz = 12 ± 35 G. The 3 σ upper limit of |Bz| ≤ 105 G.

Outflows and particle acceleration in the accretion disks of young stars [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2019
Magneto-gas-dynamic (MGD) outflows from the accretion disks of T Tauri stars with fossil large-scale magnetic fileld are investigated. We consider two mechanisms of the outflows: rise of the magnetic flux tubes (MFT) formed in the regions of efficient ...

Evolutionary status of T Tauri stars [PDF]

open access: yesResearch in Astronomy and Astrophysics, 2018
The problem of the determination of T Tauri stars masses and ages using their evolutionary status is discussed. We test of pre-main sequence evolutionary models of D'Antona \& Mazzitelli (1994), Dotter et al. (2008), Bressan et al. (2012) and Chen et al. (2014), Baraffe et al.

Magnetically modulated accretion in T Tauri stars [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
We examine how accretion on to T Tauri stars may be modulated by a time-dependent `magnetic gate' where the inner edge of the accretion disc is disrupted by a varying stellar field.

The –M disk Relationship for Herbig Ae/Be Stars: A Lifetime Problem for Disks with Low Masses?

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 2023
The accretion of material from protoplanetary disks onto their central stars is a fundamental process in the evolution of these systems and a key diagnostic in constraining the disk lifetime. We analyze the relationship between the stellar accretion rate

Characterising the surface magnetic fields of T Tauri stars with high-resolution near-infrared spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics, 2019
Aims. In this paper, we aim to characterise the surface magnetic fields of a sample of eight T Tauri stars from high-resolution near-infrared spectroscopy.

UVES spectra of young brown dwarfs in Cha I: radial and rotational velocities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Based on high-resolution UVES spectra we found that the radial velocity (RV) dispersion of nine of twelve known young bona fide and candidate brown dwarfs in the Cha I dark cloud is 2.0 km/s, i.e.
