Markierungsfreie Detektion von Virus‐Membran‐Wechselwirkungen mittels oberflächenverstärkter Infrarot‐Absorptionsspektroskopie (SEIRA)

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.

Simultaneous Differentiation of the N1 to N9 Neuraminidase Subtypes of Avian Influenza Virus by a GeXP Analyzer-Based Multiplex Reverse Transcription PCR Assay

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2019
To date, nine neuraminidase (NA) subtypes of avian influenza virus (AIV) have been identified in poultry and wild birds. Rapid and effective methods for differentiating these nine NA subtypes are needed. We developed and validated a rapid, sensitive, and

Influenza Viruses: Harnessing the Crucial Role of the M2 Ion-Channel and Neuraminidase toward Inhibitor Design

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
As a member of the Orthomyxoviridae family of viruses, influenza viruses (IVs) are known causative agents of respiratory infection in vertebrates. They remain a major global threat responsible for the most virulent diseases and global pandemics in humans.

Label‐Free Detection of Virus‐Membrane Interactions Using Surface‐Enhanced Infrared Absorption (SEIRA) Spectroscopy

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Viral binding and fusion are early steps during viral infection. Surface‐enhanced infrared absorption spectroscopy enables the label‐free tracking of molecular events, as the influenza A virus interacts with a host cell model membrane, providing chemical resolution for viral proteins, viral lipids, and host lipids.

Biological Characterizations of H5Nx Avian Influenza Viruses Embodying Different Neuraminidases

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2017
The H5 subtype virus of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus has caused huge economic losses to the poultry industry and is a threat to human health. Until 2010, H5N1 subtype virus was the major genotype in China.

In Silico Studies Reveal Peramivir and Zanamivir as an Optimal Drug Treatment Even If H7N9 Avian Type Influenza Virus Acquires Further Resistance

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
An epidemic of avian type H7N9 influenza virus, which took place in China in 2013, was enhanced by a naturally occurring R294K mutation resistant against Oseltamivir at the catalytic site of the neuraminidase.

A Surface Plasmon Resonance‐Based Integrated Assay for Quantification and Glycosylation Characterization of Monoclonal Antibodies in Crude Heterogeneous Samples

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The rise in cancer, autoimmune, inflammatory, and infectious diseases in recent decades has led to a surge in the development of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) therapies, now the most widely used family of biologics. To meet the growing global demand, biopharmaceutical industries are intensifying their production processes.

Antigenic Characterization of Neuraminidase of Influenza A/H7N9 Viruses Isolated in Different Years

open access: yesPharmaceuticals, 2022
Influenza outbreaks caused by A/H7N9 viruses have occurred since 2013. After 2016, A/H7N9 influenza viruses underwent evolutionary changes. In this study, we examined the antigenic properties of influenza neuraminidase (NA) of A/H7N9 viruses as part of a

Toward the Synthesis of 3,3‐Difluoro Deaminated Sialic Acid (C3DFKDN)

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
The synthesis of protected C3‐difluoro KDN (C3DFKDN), an unnatural derivative of the sialic acid member, KDN, and key building block for KDN‐based chemical probes, is reported. Its 12‐step synthetic route starts from commercially available methyl d‐mannopyranoside and key steps include a Reformatsky reaction with ethyl bromodifluoroacetate, alkylation ...
