A Novel Bioactive Component, Efoba, From Aged Garlic Targets CTSC to Suppress NET‐Driven Neuroinflammation and Ameliorate Secondary Brain Injury After Intracerebral Hemorrhage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Efoba, a novel bioactive component derived from aged garlic, confers neuroprotection against intracerebral hemorrhage. It acts on microglia to suppress CTSC release, inhibits NET‐mediated neural injury, and blocks pathological microglia‐neutrophil crosstalk. This study provides a highly promising lead compound for hemorrhagic‐stroke therapy.

Dynamic Supercooled Crystal–Gels for Ultrafast, Reversible Mechanical Adaptative Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A dynamic supercooled crystal–gel mimics starfish tissue by storing non‐equilibrium energy in a metastable liquid. A gentle touch triggers templated crystallization, producing a 2596‐fold stiffness increase with negligible volume change. The lattice disintegrates reversibly under humidity or warmth.

Balancing Carrier Cooling in InN/GaN Quantum Wells via Point Defect Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Nitrogen vacancies in the InN/GaN interface regulate carrier relaxation in polar quantum wells by reconstructing the conduction‐band decay pathway and enhancing nonadiabatic coupling. No deep midgap state is introduced in the neutral single‐vacancy model, enabling faster hot‐electron cooling, improved electron‐hole balance, reduced electron overflow ...

Living Electronics: Microbial Metabolism as Batteries, Resistors, and Capacitors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Three microorganisms are assigned the three elementary roles of a circuit on one sheet of paper. Dormant Bacillus subtilis spores germinate to switch the power source on; a photosynthetic Synechocystis biofilm sets resistance by the color and intensity of light; and a respiring Shewanella oneidensis biofilm stores charge. Together they form a printable

Safety of Sodium‐Ion Batteries: Evaluation and Perspective from Component Materials to Cells, Modules, and Packs

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This review provides a bottom‐up evaluation of sodium‐ion battery safety, linking material degradation mechanisms, cell engineering parameters, and module/pack assembly. It emphasizes that understanding intrinsic material stability and establishing coordinated engineering control across hierarchical levels are vital for preventing degradation coupling ...
