Visualization of Scattered Tumor Regression Following Neoadjuvant Chemoimmunotherapy With a Novel Intraoperative PET/CT Scanner

open access: yesHead &Neck, Volume 48, Issue 11, Page E119-E125, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy is being explored in locally advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), yet the spatial patterns of pathologic response and clinical implications remain poorly characterized. Methods A 79‐year‐old female with recurrent left oral tongue SCC (PD‐L122C3 Combined Positive Score 90) who ...

Farnesyltransferase Enables Modular Assembly of Dual‐Functional Nanobody Conjugates for in Vivo Imaging of Inflammation

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 42, 12 October 2026.
A modular farnesyltransferase‐based chemoenzymatic platform enables fast, site‐specific labeling of nanobodies for PET imaging of inflammation. CD11b‐targeted PET agents selectively image myeloid‐driven inflammation, while CD45‐targeted PET agents provide sensitive whole‐body immune mapping.

Atherosclerosis: From Pathogenesis to Therapeutic Interventions

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 11, November 2026.
The diagram outlines the core mechanisms driving atherosclerosis, including endothelial dysfunction, inflammatory responses, phenotypic switching of smooth muscle cells, and the gut–vascular axis. It also presents the corresponding therapeutic approaches now under development, such as gene therapies, immunotherapies, and nanotechnology platforms ...

Impact of dose reduction and multi‐parametric harmonization on multi‐organ radiomics robustness in total‐body PET imaging: Methodological implications for quantitative theranostics

open access: yesMedical Physics, Volume 53, Issue 11, November 2026.
Abstract Background Radiomic features derived from positron emission tomography (PET) are sensitive to count statistics and acquisition protocol variability, thereby limiting quantitative reliability in low‐dose and multi‐center total‐body PET imaging.

Preoperative Temporal Elevation of Cytokeratin 19 Fragment in Thymoma With Extensive Necrosis: A Case Report

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 17, Issue 21, November 2026.
In a mediastinal tumor accompanied by inflammation and a low‐density area, cytokeratin 19 fragment (CYFRA) was elevated, but it decreased preoperatively. The pathological diagnosis was thymoma with extensive necrosis (possibly Type B). A temporal CYFRA elevation may indicate tumor necrosis. Thymoma with necrosis should be considered in the differential

Chemoenzymatic Radiosynthesis of a Gluconate Transporter‐Targeted In Vivo Bacterial Sensor From Clinical [18F]FDG

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 41, 5 October 2026.
An efficient radiosynthesis of fluorine‐18 labeled gluconic acid ([18F]FGA) was developed using two readily available materials, 2‐deoxy‐2‐[18F]fluoro‐D‐glucose ([18F]FDG) and glucose oxidase. [18F]FGA is highly specific for bacterial gluconate metabolism mediated by gluconate permease (GntP) and gluconate kinase (GntK), with rapid clearance, low off ...

Spleens With Disseminated Lymphoma Exhibit Higher Standardized Uptake Value Maximum, Metabolic Tumor Volumes, and Total Lesion Glycolysis on Fluorine‐18 Fluorodeoxyglucose Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography

open access: yesVeterinary Radiology &Ultrasound, Volume 67, Issue 6, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Standardized uptake value maximum (SUVmax), metabolic tumor volumes (MTV), and total lesion glycolysis (TLG) are metabolic parameters used to quantify tumors detected on fluorine‐18 fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (18F‐FDG PET/CT).

Association Between Gray Matter Microstructure and Glucose Metabolism in Older Adults With Cognitive Decline: A Multimodal Imaging Study

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 15, October 15, 2026.
We used multimodal PET‐MRI data to study the gray matter glucose metabolism‐microstructural architecture relationship in cognitively impaired brains. Results showed a significant positive correlation between glucose metabolism and NODDI metrics, particularly with the orientation dispersion index (ODI), in two independent datasets.

Tumor‐Regional Immune Microenvironment: A Critical Factor in the Design of Radiotherapy–Immunotherapy Combination Trials

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 8, Page 1857-1872, 15 October 2026.
ABSTRACT Clinical trials combining radiotherapy (RT) with immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) have shown improved outcomes in only a fraction of patients, and optimal strategies for integrating these modalities remain under intense investigation. With a few exceptions, phase III combination trials have yielded disappointing results.
