AF4-to-SAXS: expanded characterization of nanoparticles and proteins at the P12 BioSAXS beamline. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Synchrotron Radiat
By coupling asymmetrical‐flow field‐flow fractionation to small‐angle X‐ray scattering (AF4–SAXS), we enable precise, size‐resolved analysis of polydisperse samples. Our automated AF4–SAXS system at the EMBL P12 beamline streamlines workflows, making advanced characterization accessible to both novice and experienced users, with principles adaptable to

PLLA‐Based Block Copolymers via Raft Polymerization—Impact of the Synthetic Route and Activation Mechanism

open access: yesMacromolecular Chemistry and Physics, Volume 224, Issue 24, December 2023., 2023
Block copolymers from poly(lactic acid) and functional acrylamides are produced via a combination of ring‐opening polymerization and photo‐iniferter reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer (PI‐RAFT) polymerization. The synthetic strategy is optimized toward high molecular weights while maintaining low dispersity.

The human factor: results of a small‐angle scattering data analysis round robin

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, Volume 56, Issue 6, Page 1618-1629, December 2023., 2023
A data‐analysis round robin was performed using four real‐world datasets to quantify the role of the human factor in analysis; the 46 responses show that the analyses by different researchers and laboratories may not be directly comparable, with large reporting inconsistencies in distribution widths and volume fractions.

Pharmacodynamic Analysis of CAR-T Cell Persistence in Patients with Hematologic Malignancies Treated with NKTR-255, an IL-15 Receptor Agonist That Enhances CD8 + T-Cells: Preliminary Results from a Phase 1 Study

open access: yesBlood, 2021
Background: Autologous T cells engineered to express a CD19 or BCMA-specific chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) have shown high overall response rates in treatment-refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) and BCMA + multiple myeloma (MM), respectively.

Thermo‐Responsive Ultrafiltration Block Copolymer Membranes Based on Polystyrene‐block‐poly(diethyl acrylamide)

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 308, Issue 11, November 2023., 2023
A novel ultrafiltration membrane based on a polystyrene‐b‐poly(diethyl acrylamide) block copolymer is introduced, where the poly(diethyl acrylamide) block features an lower critical solution temperature in water at 32 °C. The membrane is fabricated via the non‐solvent induced phase separation process and the reversible thermal switching capability of ...

rTMS ameliorates depressive‐like behaviors and regulates the gut microbiome and medium‐ and long‐chain fatty acids in mice exposed to chronic unpredictable mild stress

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 29, Issue 11, Page 3549-3566, November 2023., 2023
rTMS (15 Hz, 1.26 T) alleviates depressive‐like behavior of CUMS‐treated mice and regulates the flora represented by Cyanobacterium and Actinobaciota. Meanwhile, it improves polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) in hippocampus and PFC, and also upregulates C20:4N6, C20:5N3 and C20:3N3 PUFAs in the plasma.

Fabrication of Patchy Silica Microspheres with Tailor‐Made Patch Functionality using Photo‐Iniferter Reversible‐Addition‐Fragmentation Chain‐Transfer (PI‐RAFT) Polymerization

open access: yesSmall, Volume 19, Issue 43, October 25, 2023., 2023
Patchy silicon dioxide microspheres are fabricated via a solid‐state supported microcontact printing (µCP) routine. The amino functions introduced during the µCP process are used as anchor groups to graft tailor‐made polymeric materials from the patch area using photo‐iniferter reversible addition‐fragmentation chain‐transfer (RAFT) polymerization. The
