Summary In bipolar disorders, abnormalities of sleep patterns and of circadian rhythms of activity are observed during mood episodes, but also persist during euthymia. Shared vulnerabilities between mood disorders and abnormalities of sleep patterns and circadian rhythms of activity have been suggested.
