Anti‐Protestantism was one of the reasons for the revival of missions during the interwar period. By the 1960s, however, Protestants were less and less often mentioned as a threat to missionary efforts, and the decline in inter‐confessional tensions was increasingly considered a relic of the past.

ABSTRACT This article argues that marriage was central to historical change in the Yoruba‐speaking region of West Africa during the eighteenth century. It draws on ìtàn, a distinct oral source, to show that conjugality shaped Yoruba processes of urbanisation and political centralisation, gendered divisions of labour and social innovation and creativity.

Summary In 2021, for the first time, the EU Member States were required to include Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKIS) in their Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) Strategic Plans (2023–2027).
