Territorial and Non-Territorial Subpopulations of Wilson's Warblers Return to Central California Breeding Grounds in Two Migratory Waves. [PDF]
In this study of Wilson's Warblers, nearly all individuals returning early and becoming territorial were ASY birds, and very few were SY birds. However, second waves of returning Wilson's Warblers, containing both SY and ASY birds, returned about 3–5 weeks after the first migratory waves, and no males in these second waves ever became territorial ...

Restricted Dispersal in the Late Successional Forest Tree Species Nothofagus Pumilio: Consequences Under Global Change. [PDF]
We aim to uncover the current and historic effective dispersal distances and characterize fine‐scale genetic structure in the forest tree species Nothofagus pumilio. Short seed dispersal distances mean N. pumilio distribution expansion capacity may be limited, especially in the context of global change.

Integrating adult occurrence and reproduction data to identify conservation measures for amphibians. [PDF]
Abstract Monitoring programs are pivotal to establishing sound management. Due to economic, logistic, and time limitations, monitoring programs often overlook differences among life‐history stages. However, species occurrence does not necessarily mean population viability, and it is unclear to what extent monitoring programs that do not consider ...

Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Fruit traits play a fundamental role in mediating plant‐frugivore interactions, shaping seed dispersal dynamics. Given the complexity of multi‐species interactions, these traits and, consequently, plant‐frugivore interactions can be indirectly influenced by third‐party ...

Low‐sodium females took significantly longer to start mating than high‐sodium females, but no pairings differed in the duration of copulation. Reproductive outputs, measured by number of clutches, hatching young, adult offspring and pupation time, did not differ across parental sodium pairings.
