Our paper presents a workflow utilizing deep learning with convolutional neural networks in the “torch for R” ecosystem for automated detection of gibbon calls from passive acoustic monitoring data. We compare six CNN architectures, assessing their performance on data sets of female calls from two gibbon species.

The COVID‐19‐related national lockdowns that occurred all over the world in response to the pandemic have been found to have impacted alcohol use. Using monthly data, interrupted time‐series analyses were performed to evaluate the impact of COVID‐19‐related lockdowns on alcohol‐related traffic collisions, injuries, and fatalities in Lithuania.
