Potential peptidic proteasome inhibitors by incorporation of an electrophilic trap based on amino acid derived α-substituted sulfonyl fluorides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Peptido sulfonyl fluoride derivatives were designed and synthesized containing a substituent on the alpha position (αPSFs) with respect to the sulfonyl fluoride electrophilic trap.

Recent Advances in the Synthetic and Mechanistic Aspects of the Ruthenium-catalyzed Carbon-heteroatom Bond Forming Reactions of Alkenes and Alkynes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The group’s recent advances in catalytic carbon-to-heteroatom bond forming reactions of alkenes and alkynes are described. For the C–O bond formation reaction, a well-defined bifunctional ruthenium-amido catalyst has been successfully employed for the ...

Ionic behavior assessment of surface-active compounds from corn steep liquor by exchange resins [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Depending on their ionic nature, biosurfactants can be classified as nonionic, anionic, cationic, or amphoteric. The ionic behavior of biosurfactants is an important characteristic that dictates their use in industrial applications.

Efficient seeding techniques for protein similarity search [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We apply the concept of subset seeds proposed in [1] to similarity search in protein sequences. The main question studied is the design of efficient seed alphabets to construct seeds with optimal sensitivity/selectivity trade-offs.

Synthesis of cis- and trans-3-Aminocyclohexanols by Reduction of β-Enaminoketones

open access: yesMolecules, 2011
We describe a protocol developed for the preparation of β-enaminoketones derived from 1,3-cyclohexanediones, and their subsequent reduction by sodium in THF-isopropyl alcohol to afford cis- and trans-3-aminocyclohexanols.

Microwave-assisted regioselective ring opening of non-activated aziridines by lithium aluminium hydride [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A new synthetic protocol for the LiAlH4-promoted reduction of non-activated aziridines under microwave conditions was developed. Thus, ring opening of 2-(acetoxymethyl)aziridines provided the corresponding beta-amino alcohols, which were then used as ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

C2α‐carbanion‐protonating glutamate discloses tradeoffs between substrate accommodation and reaction rate in actinobacterial 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

Chiral β-Amino Alcohols as Ligands for the Ruthenium-Catalyzed Asymmetric Transfer Hydrogenation of N-Phosphinyl Ketimines

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2012
Some chiral β-amino alcohols have been evaluated as potential ligands for the ruthenium-catalyzed asymmetric transfer hydrogenation (ATH) of N-phosphinyl ketimines in isopropyl alcohol. The ruthenium complex prepared from [RuCl2(p-cymene)]2 and (1S,2R)-1-

Properties investigations of rape stalks fermented by different salt concentration: Effect of volatile compounds and physicochemical indexes

open access: yesFood Chemistry: X, 2023
In order to find out the effect of salt concentration on fermented rape stalks, the physicochemical quality and volatile components was investigated using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and headspace solid phase microextraction gas ...
