Making of a unique birth control vaccine against hCG with additional potential of therapy of advanced stage cancers and prevention of obesity and insulin resistance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Reviewed is the work which led to the development of a unique vaccine that prevents pregnancy in sexually active women without impairment of ovulation and block of their making normally their sex steroid hormones. Being given that hCG is not expressed by

Fosl2 Regulates FSH‐Dependent Follicle Maturation Through Feedback Amplification of FSH/FSHR Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies a FOSL2‐driven positive feedback loop that amplifies FSH/FSHR signaling. During FSH‐dependent follicle maturation, FSH induces Fosl2 expression via the cAMP‐PKA‐CREB cascade. FOSL2 in turn binds the promoters of Fshr and estrogen‐biosynthesis genes to enhance their transcription, thereby increasing Fshr mRNA level and amplifying ...

First trimester prenatal screening in multiple pregnancies. Part I: comparative analysis of serum proteins PAPP-A and p-hCG in pregnancies conceived spontaneously or by in vitro fertilization

open access: yesАкушерство, гинекология и репродукция, 2020
Introduction. Serum proteins PAPP-A (pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A) and β-hCG (the в-subunit of human chorionic gonadotropin) levels are components of the 1st trimester combined screening aimed to detect fetal aneuploidies.

Natural Resistance to Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome in Estrildid Finches Reveals Macrophage GPR183 as a Potential Therapeutic Target

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ovarian macrophage depletion reverses OHSS resistance in estrildid finches and exacerbates OHSS symptoms in rats. Activating macrophage GPR183 alleviates OHSS by reducing pro‐inflammatory factors, increasing immunomodulatory molecules, remodeling CD44/SDC4‐mediated communication, and restoring immune homeostasis.

Follicle Stimulating Hormone in Cattle Breeding: Fundamentals, Innovations, and Scope

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
FSH is crucial in cattle reproduction, with exogenous administration enhancing breeding and embryo production. Recombinant FSH offers advantages over pituitary‐extracted variants, including fewer injections, reduced stress, and safer production. These innovations improve breeding efficiency, optimize reproductive outcomes, and contribute to sustainable

Oocyte–cumulus cell interaction: a key factor in early embryo development

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The evaluation of oocyte competence is a fundamental step in achieving successful outcomes following assisted reproduction techniques (ART). At present, however, conventional oocyte maturation assessment is carried out by morphological observation, which is a subjective method that does not consider molecular features.

Expression of beta-human chorionic gonadotropin as a prognostic factor in colorectal carcinoma

open access: yesMedical Journal of Babylon, 2019
Background: Colorectal carcinoma (CRC) is a common malignancy in Iraq and carries a high mortality rate. It has been shown that CRCs express high level of beta-human chorionic gonadotropin (β-HCG) as detected by immunohistochemistry.
