The first discovery of a shocked, metasomatised CV3 chondrule‐fragment in a (Al,Cu)‐bearing micrometeorite

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, Volume 61, Issue 9, Page 2269-2283, September 2026.
Abstract We report the discovery of the second (Al,Cu)‐alloy–bearing micrometeorite, FB‐A2, recovered from Mount Gariglione (southern Italy), representing the sixth such occurrence worldwide. Although chondritic in nature, FB‐A2 differs markedly from previously described microspherules.

Maximum water stress is decoupled from climate, traits, and growth in a xeric oak

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 251, Issue 5, Page 2392-2406, September 2026.
We sampled sites across the geographic distribution of blue oak (Quercus douglasii) in California, USA, which spans a large range of mean annual precipitation. Summary Our ability to explain and predict the spatial patterns of forest mortality remains limited.

An 800 kyr planktonic δ18O stack for the Western Pacific Warm Pool

open access: yes
Abstract. The Western Pacific Warm Pool (WPWP) exhibits different glacial–interglacial climate variability compared to high latitudes, and its sea surface temperatures are thought to respond primarily to changes in greenhouse forcing.

AMOC Weakening Controls δ18O but Not Rainfall in North China During Deglacial Abrupt Events

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 16, 28 August 2026.
Abstract East Asian Summer Monsoon (EASM) varied at orbital and millennial timescales during the Last Deglaciation (∼20–11 ka). The uniform δ18O response in East China is often linked to EASM circulation that drives a precipitation dipole in North and South China on orbital scale.

High‐Resolution Regional Atmospheric Simulation of Precipitation and Isotopes in Central America

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 16, 28 August 2026.
Abstract With advances in global and regional circulation models, the high‐resolution simulation of atmospheric variables has become increasingly feasible. In this study, we use IsoRSM, an isotope‐enabled regional spectral model, to improve the simulation of precipitation and its isotopic composition over tropical Costa Rica, which is marked by a ...

An Integrated Process‐Based Approach for Interpreting Precipitation Isotopes Using North‐Central Texas as a Testbed

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 16, 28 August 2026.
Abstract The isotopic composition of precipitation reflects the combined influences of moisture sources, rainout history, and convective intensity, but the relative importance of these controls varies among regions and remains poorly understood in continental settings.
