Sums and averages [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
These informal notes are concerned with sums and averages in various situations in analysis.Comment: 51 ...

A convenient setting for real analytic mappings

open access: yes, 1989
We present here "the" cartesian closed theory for real analytic mappings. It is based on the concept of real analytic curves in locally convex vector spaces.

Investigation of Laser Ablation and Brush Pre‐Treatments for AlCu Cold Roll Bonding in Oxygen‐Free Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
It is shown that laser ablation pretreatment under oxygen‐free conditions enables copper–aluminium bonding at significantly lower deformation degrees and improved properties compared to mechanical brushing. Laser ablation further increases interface contact area and induces favourable residual stress states and microstructural compatibility ...

Classification of Harish-Chandra Modules over the Higher Rank Virasoro Algebras

open access: yes, 2003
It is obtained that an irreducible weight module with finite weight multiplicities over a higher rank Virasoro or super-Virasoro algebra is either a module of the intermediate series, or a so-called finitely-dense module.Comment: Some errors in Theorems ...

Application of Raman and Photoluminescence Spectroscopy to MgO‐C Refractories

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Visible to near infrared luminescence of MgO is studied on MgO‐C bricks and nominally pure MgO powder, with focus on two similar sharp high‐intensity signals, at 699 and 871 nm, each surrounded by symmetrical sidebands. The nature of these sidebands is investigated by temperature‐dependent spectroscopic measurements, confirming phonon involvement by ...

Generalised continuation by means of right limits [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Several theories have been proposed to generalise the concept of analytic continuation to holomorphic functions of the disc for which the circle is a natural boundary.

Normal form for travelling kinks in discrete Klein-Gordon lattices

open access: yes, 2005
We study travelling kinks in the spatial discretizations of the nonlinear Klein--Gordon equation, which include the discrete $\phi^4$ lattice and the discrete sine--Gordon lattice.

Composition‐Tuned Enhancement of the Anomalous Nernst Effect in FeCo–Pt Thin Films on Rigid and Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Commuting Toeplitz Operators on Bounded Symmetric Domains and Multiplicity-Free Restrictions of Holomorphic Discrete Series

open access: yes, 2014
For any given bounded symmetric domain, we prove the existence of commutative $C^*$-algebras generated by Toeplitz operators acting on any weighted Bergman space.

Combined Process‐ and Phase‐Field‐Simulation to Predict the Microstructure of Single‐Crystal Ni‐Based Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A combined finite element and phase‐field approach predicts the evolution of microstructure during the directional solidification of Ni‐based superalloys. The model reveals how withdrawal rate, temperature gradient, and wall thickness control the dendrite spacing, highlighting the strong effect of surface regions in thin sections where dendrite growth ...
