1994~1996年经连续3a对丹顶鹤换羽与产卵关系的观察研究表明,在沈阳地区产卵期为4月初至6月中旬,最晚可到7月初;其中产受精卵时间是从4月初至5月末(45~49d)。丹顶鹤换羽前受精率较高(70%~100%),换羽后受精率低或基本不受精。
