Latina mothers' cultural orientation and child self‐esteem: The mediating role of cultural socialization

open access: yesFamily Process, Volume 62, Issue 3, Page 1114-1133, September 2023., 2023
Abstract This longitudinal investigation evaluated parental cultural socialization practices as a central mechanism by which parents' cultural values influence developmental outcomes in ethnic–racial minority children. Drawing on a sample of 129 Latina mothers and their children (48.1% daughters and 51.9% sons), path analyses evaluated hypothesized ...

Groundwater mapping and locally engaged water governance in a small island terrain: Case study of Karainagar island, Northern Sri Lanka

open access: yesWorld Water Policy, Volume 9, Issue 3, Page 456-480, August 2023., 2023
Abstract Groundwater is a vital resource under threat in island communities. Karainagar, a 22 km2 island, is one of seven islands off the coast of Jaffna in Northern Sri Lanka, with its population of just about 11,000 persons, experiences seasonal water shortage, and salinity in groundwater as twin threats impacting on their lives.

Synthesizing habitat connectivity analyses of a globally important human‐dominated tiger‐conservation landscape

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 36, Issue 4, August 2022., 2022
Abstract As ecological data and associated analyses become more widely available, synthesizing results for effective communication with stakeholders is essential. In the case of wildlife corridors, managers in human‐dominated landscapes need to identify both the locations of corridors and multiple stakeholders for effective oversight.

open access: yesShuitu Baochi Xuebao, 2004
