International Journal of Applied Linguistics, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Collaborative writing has attracted increasing attention in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction due to its potential to enhance learners’ writing competence. However, few studies have examined the comparative effects of collaborative versus independent writing on EFL learners’ individual performance, especially in higher‐order ...

Finetuning Pre‐Trained Language Models for Automatic Assessment of English‐Chinese Interpreting
International Journal of Applied Linguistics, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Recent years have seen growing interest in leveraging pre‐trained language models (PLMs) for automatic assessment of spoken‐language performance. Contributing to this emerging line of work, the present study offers the first attempt to finetune two PLMs, GTE‐multilingual and mmBERT, for assessing English‐Chinese interpreting, using over 1700 ...

Rare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 11, November 2026.ABSTRACT Atomically thin two‐dimensional (2D) materials have emerged as ideal candidates for realizing high‐density, fast switching, and energy‐efficient memristors. However, ultrathin memristive interlayers, particularly at the atom scale, typically suffer from poor endurance and significant variations.

Grain Boundary Density Governs the Discharge Behavior of Mg Anodes in Biodegradable Batteries
Rare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 11, November 2026.ABSTRACT Biodegradable magnesium (Mg) alloys have entered clinical use, yet their development as self‐powered absorbable batteries is hindered by poor anode performance, including high self‐corrosion, passivation, and nonuniform dissolution. The role of grain boundary density in governing discharge behavior remains unclear.

World Water Policy, Volume 12, Issue 4, November 2026.ABSTRACT This article examines how renewable‐energy expansion is changing water–energy bargaining among Iran, Iraq, and Türkiye in the Tigris–Euphrates basin. Much of the existing literature on transboundary water politics focuses on territorial control, upstream–downstream power asymmetries, legal rules, and hydro‐hegemony but gives less attention to ...
