Highlights Glucagon receptor (GCGR) monoclonal antibody (mAb) improves cardiac function and attenuates microvascular damage in db/db mice. GCGR mAb ameliorates the oxidative stress of cardiac microvascular endothelial cells in diabetic mice. GCGR mAb counteracts the diabetes‐induced upregulation of carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1B, optic atrophy type ...

Metrics for quantifying how much different threats contribute to red lists of species and ecosystems
Abstract Red lists are a crucial tool for the management of threatened species and ecosystems. Among the information red lists provide, the threats affecting the listed species or ecosystem, such as pollution or hunting, are of special relevance.

Abstract Background Diabetic foot infection, particularly osteomyelitis, is a major risk factor of amputation in persons with diabetes. Bone biopsy with microbial examination is considered the gold standard of diagnosis of osteomyelitis, providing information about the offending pathogens as well as their antibiotics susceptibility.

ABSTRACT Objective To investigate the diagnostic yield of clinical whole‐genome sequencing (WGS) in prenatally diagnosed non‐immune hydrops fetalis (NIHF). Methods This was a retrospective study of 23 fetuses with prenatally diagnosed NIHF, negative for trisomies and copy‐number variants, referred for analysis by WGS with an in‐silico panel of 281 ...

The Genome of Phoebe zhennan (Lauraceae) and Comparative Genomics of Phoebe 楠木(樟科)基因组与楠属植物比较基因组学研究
Phoebe zhennan is a Chinese endemic and valuable timber species of Phoebe (Lauraceae). We present a chromosome‐level genome assembly of P. zhennan. Our research provides novel insights into the genome evolution of Phoebe, including whole‐genome duplication, phylogenetic relationships of magnoliids, and key MYB regulatory genes involved in lignin ...

Summary The importance of marine angiosperms, or seagrasses, as foundation species for marine coastal ecosystems is in marked contrast to their low species number of only 70 described taxa. Seagrass species tend to have very similar overall morphologies dictated by hydrodynamic forces of the ocean environment.
